Connect the iPhone or Android smartphone on which PxLink is installed to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver with the procedures (1) Bluetooth Connection > (2) Bluetooth LE Connection > (3) Wi-Fi Connection.
First, ensure that your iPhone or Android smartphone has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned ON.
Several permissions, including location information, are required to connect to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver.
Grant the permissions requested in each step.
If you have denied the permissions and are not able to connect, grant the permissions from the setting screen of your iPhone or Android smartphone.
Ensure that your iPhone or Android smartphone is in the following state before connecting.
Granting of various access permissions may be requested. In these cases, grant permissions in accordance with the directions on the iPhone screen.
Tap "Start".
If Bluetooth on the iPhone is OFF, a message will be displayed. Tap > [Bluetooth] in order, and switch "Bluetooth" to (ON).
Operate the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver to connect via Bluetooth, and press the "Next" button.
Check that a Bluetooth connection has been established.
For Android smartphones
Launch PxLink.
Granting of various access permissions may be requested. In these cases, grant permissions in accordance with the directions on the Android smartphone screen.
Tap "Start".
If Bluetooth on the Android smartphone is OFF, a message will be displayed. Tap > [Connected devices] > [Connection settings] > [Bluetooth] in order, and switch "Use Bluetooth" to (ON).
If the name of the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver to connect to is displayed, select it and tap Connect".
Pairing starts.
If the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver to connect to is not displayed, tap "Scan" to search.
Tap "Pair & connect".
Tap "Pair".
If "Yes" is displayed on the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver screen, tap it and allow pairing.
Tap "Next".
Turn Android Auto OFF when connecting for the first time.
When the Android Auto mark is displayed, it can be turned OFF by pressing the Bluetooth button on the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver.
(2) Bluetooth LE Connection
If the name of the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver to connect to is displayed, select it and tap "Connect".
If the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver to connect to is not displayed, tap "Scan" to search.
Tap "Pair".
Tap "Next".
If the Bluetooth LE connection cannot be established, check the following.
If Android Auto is connected, turn it OFF.
If PxLink of another iPhone or Android smartphone is connected to the in-vehicle device, disconnect this PxLink.
If the problem cannot be resolved even after checking the above, delete the Bluetooth connection information between the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver and the iPhone or Android smartphone, and try connecting again.
Confirm the access point name (SSID), and tap "Connect".
If connection fails, check that mobile communication is enabled on your iPhone or Android smartphone.
Tap "Next".
If connection fails, a retry screen will be displayed. Tap "Retry" to try reconnecting.
If connection fails even after trying again, tap "x" > "OK" > "+" in order at the top right of the screen and try again from "(1) Bluetooth Connection".
If is displayed on the top of the screen, connection between PxLink and the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver is complete.
From subsequent times connecting the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver and an iPhone or Android smartphone, PxLink will automatically launch.
If is displayed on the screen, this indicates that PxLink and the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver are not connected.
Reconnection
After connecting PxLink and the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver for the first time, if "Disconnected" ( or ) is displayed for whatever reason, reconnect using the following procedure.

When this is displayed, connecting is in progress, so please wait for a while.
The shortcut screen displays shortcut keys that correspond to the connected Pioneer In-Dash Receiver. Flick left or right on this screen to switch between shortcut screen pages.
Tap shortcut keys to send operations assigned to each key to the connected Pioneer In-Dash Receiver.
Shortcut key editing
You can change the shortcut keys displayed on the shortcut screen to suit your preference.
Note
To return shortcut keys to their factory default state in the connected Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, tap "Shortcut key reset" from "Settings".
Images saved on an iPhone or Android smartphone can be set as the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver home screen and AV screen wallpaper (background image).
Customize the wallpaper by following these steps: (1) Save the image to set as the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver wallpaper to PxLink > (2) Send the image saved to PxLink to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver.
(1) Save the image to set as the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver wallpaper to PxLink
Select the image to set as the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver wallpaper from the iPhone or Android smartphone library, and save to PxLink.
On the shortcut screen, tap "".
Tap "Wallpaper".
Tap "Select Image".
If there is already a saved image, it will be displayed in "Available Wallpaper". Selecting a new image will overwrite it.
Select an image from the library.
For the first time performing this operation, access permissions for the library will be requested. Grant permissions in accordance with the directions on the iPhone or Android smartphone screen.
Adjust the image to display as the wallpaper so that it fits within the rectangular frame.
Drag to adjust the position, and pinch in and out to adjust the size.
To restart adjustment from the beginning, tap "Reset".
Tap "Save".
If the iPhone or Android smartphone is connected to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, saving the image to PxLink will automatically send it to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, and set it as the wallpaper.
If the iPhone or Android smartphone has disconnected from the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, it will not automatically be sent.
Connect the iPhone or Android smartphone to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, then send in accordance with "(2) Send the image saved to PxLink to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver".

Send the image saved to PxLink to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver and set as the wallpaper.
Note
If the iPhone or Android smartphone has disconnected from the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, it cannot be sent. Check "Connecting with Pioneer In-Dash Receiver".
You can set whether or not to receive push notifications.
Note
You will be notified of important content even if this is set to not receive.

Updating the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver Firmware Version
Download the latest Pioneer In-Dash Receiver firmware with PxLink.
Note
Setting push notifications and email notifications to "Receive" makes it easier to receive information about the latest firmware.
If a new firmware download message is displayed on the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, tap "Yes" and the download start confirmation screen will be displayed in PxLink. Tap "OK" to start the download.
On the shortcut screen, tap "".
Tap "Firmware".
If there is new firmware, "" will be displayed.

Sending firmware to Pioneer In-Dash Receiver
Send the firmware downloaded to PxLink to the Pioneer In-Dash Receiver, and update its firmware version.
Note
Once you have updated to the latest firmware version, restoring an older version is not possible.
Stop the vehicle in a safe location.
Ensure that the parking brake is applied before updating the firmware.
Also, ensure that the engine is running in order to prevent the battery from draining.
Any unread notifications will be displayed with a red circle and the number of unread notifications.
